School's Out Forever by James Patterson.

School's Out Forever by James Patterson.     Synopsis:    Fourteen-year-old Maximum Ride and the other members of the "Flock"--Fang, Iggy, Nudge, Gasman and Angel--are just like ordinary kids--only they have wings and can fly. It seems like a dream come true--except that they're being hunted by half-human, half-wolf "Erasers" who can fly, too.

In Book 2 of the series, the Flock members are taken under the wing of an FBI agent and try to live "normal" lives by going to school, making friends--and continuing their relentless search for their parents. But the Erasers return, forcing the Flock to abandon their search and make their escape once again. The voice inside Max's head keeps telling her that it's up to her to save the world, but this is especially challenging to do when she is faced with her ultimate match: a newer and better version of herself, Maximum Ride II. Max's heart-stopping quest to investigate the mind-blowing mystery of her ultimate destiny continues in the scariest, strangest, and funniest James Patterson novel yet.

Review:

Characters: 5 / 5

The characters in these maximum ride novels are so realistic, and yes i do realise they are mutants and are therefore un-realistic! Bur their relationships and behaviour is so comforting and easy to read about. I loved the tension between max and fang , the constant will they- won't they kiss through the entire book. I also loved the development of Max into an almost normal teenager and young woman , through her new attitude and new romance with Sam , who was perfectly nice but i didn't like him because he wasn't fang! Similar we see Fang flirt with a  'Red-Headed Wonder' and max walks in on them kissing passionately. I also disliked her because she wasn't max!
Although fang and max are my favourite i do enjoy the other characters; angel and nudge who are so adorable , and iggy and gasman who are so brave and loyal.
Of course there is also the "love to hate" relationship i have with jeb, who abandoned them and turned his son over to the white-coats. In this novel i developed a similar relationship with Anne walker , who took in the flock but was revealed to be an evil scientist.

Plot:  5 / 5
If you have read any of Patterson's books, you know his plot writing skills are without fault! He writes addicting plot lines that keep you gasping for more. I sat down with this book at lunch-time on a Saturday and didn't stop reading until Ten o clock, except for the occasional toilet and food break. I loved the plot of this book with the characters spending some time feeling like ordinary children and attending school. Then being on the run and sleeping in train tunnels. By the end of the book I was gasping to get my hands on the next instalment of the series and begging my parents to drive me to the library to get it!

Writing Style:   4 / 5
The writing style...hmm. Although Patterson writes such action packed,  page turning  novels, i do find the short-chapter thing a bit annoying. If you have read a James Patterson novel you will know that he has a habit of making each chapter only 2-4 pages long, So by the time you are 50 pages in you are already on chapter 23!
Apart from this slight annoyance, i find Patterson's writing style to add to the addictive-ness of the book and this makes the books flow easily and allows you to fall into the story.
As always James , you have written an incredible book , and i have absolutely nothing bad to say about it.

Overall Rating :     14 / 15

(2 Kleenex Boxes- at a certain part with Iggy!)
