Downton abbey S.3 E.5

  • So, this weeks episode of Downton Abbey did not disappoint in any way. If you have not seen the episode yet.. Do not read this as it shall contain spoilers.
  • I loved how instead of dwelling in her self pity and depression, though I would not blame her as she had just been humiliated, Edith then follows in her younger sisters footsteps to make her opinions known. She writes to The Times and is offered a job writing columns for the paper. Well done Edith!
  • I really disliked how Lord Grantham burst Edith's bubble by saying she was only getting the offer because of her money and rank in society and not at all because of her intelligence. I mean c'mon, can no one encourage Edith for 10 minutes after she has had her heart broken?!
  • I felt so sorry for Ethel last week when she decided to give up her child to his fathers family as she felt he'd have a better life. I was very happy that Isobel wanted to help her and give her a job in her house.
  • Ethels cooking skills are nearly on par with mine!
  • I know Daisy has this thing for Alfred but did she really have to be so mean to Ivy? I mean, Ivy is a young girl who has just come to work in a large house and she must feel a little shy. C'mon Daisy, you are a nice girl. If you want Alfred to like you then be yourself .
  • Anna is such an amazing detective! Hopefully this will now get Bates out of prison as he is too lovely for prison. It is heartbreaking that they cannot be with each other :(
  • Bates, please be careful in prison. Your cell mate and his prison warden friend do not mean you well.
  • Robert really needs to hear Matthews opinions on managing the house- but seriously Matthew, did you have to discuss business at a time like this?
  • Thomas and Jimmy.... Something is going to happen between them. I'm sure of it. And I feel Mrs 'O' Brien is going to use it to reap her revenge....
  • When Sybil went into labour.. OMG I knew something awful was going to happen, I hoped it wouldn't but I had a horrible feeling.
  • I felt so angry that they brought in that idiot of a "professional" child birthing doctor. He thought he was much better than the local doctor . I thought it would have been common sense to let the Doctor that has looked after the entire family, and the girls since they were babies, should be trusted to look after Sybil.
  • So mean of Robert to almost not let Branson decide if his wife should go to hospital or not.
  • As soon as the doctor said that Sybil could develop something as a result of the birth I knew he was on the ball.
  • It was heartbreaking listening to Sybils ravings and Toms cries of "stay with me, Don't leave me my love" To see such a strong man breaking down was heartbreaking.
  • I was literally bawling and sobbing watching her go into seizures and convulsions and the doctors saying there was nothing they could do.
  • The death was just horrible :( Especially at the end when Tom and the baby were looking out of the window and I just thought to myself , They are the family she has left behind.
  • Lady grantham is now not speaking to Robert and is making him sleep in the other room. I know she is blaming him for this and I do agree on some level . I do and don't hope they reunite. I mean they are meant for each other but he still has not told her about the affair he had last season.
  • Seeing Granny (Maggie Smith), Carson, Thomas, Daisy break down. Seeing the whole house staff and servants crying and in mourning was so sad. Thomas does have a heart and we see that he actually liked lady Sybil which was a surprise as he has always acted as if he hates all the upstairs but we know now that he is fond of them.
  • The scene where Lady Mary and Edith say that Sybil always helped them to get along and that they must be strong and act like sisters now. And the hug they shared... ughhh **tears**
  • Brilliant episode but ugh, SO Sad . Cannot wait for next weeks episode.
  • Here is some images to give you an idea of what I looked like watching Downton Abbey This week;

This was a sad day for Downton fans as it not only marked the Death of one of the sweetest and bravest characters in the show but also the death of many of ours OTP. RIP Sybil~ <3

Crying adds something: crying is you, plus tears. But the feeling Colin had was some horrible opposite of crying. It was you, minus something. He kept thinking of that one word - forever - and felt the burning ache just beneath his rib cage.
