MY REVIEW:
CHARACTERS: 4 / 5
I really enjoyed the characters in this novel.  They were vibrant, animated and really fun to read about. Artemis Fowl, The main character of this book. He is an evil genius, a mastermind criminal and only twelve years old! He seemed like such a villain throughout the book, although there was moments of his caring and kind heart shining through. I felt sympathy towards him because of his mother's mental state and his father's disappearance. He had to be the man of the house and he had to become an adult. I really enjoyed his character, so fun to read about!
Holly Short, She was so much fun. I loved her LEPrecon job- that was so much fun to read about. I loved her relationship with Commander Root and Foaly-who was hilarious! She was sarcastic and smart and really awesome!
Butler. He was awesome, bodyguard type of guy. I loved his relationship with Artemis, they were more like best friends/ father-and-son than boy and protector.
P.s- MULCH how funny was he?! Awesome!

PLOT: 3.5/5
The plot was fast paced at times and then others it was kind of bland. I loved the action scenes and the Plot line. I have honestly never read a book of similar plot line to this and was so intrigued to read this. I had heard so much hype around this book and always see it in the library or at schools. The plot was super fun to read and I really enjoyed it!

WRITING STYLE: 4/5
Eoin Colfer had such a wonderful writing style in this novel. I really enjoyed all the twists and turns of the plot. His character and world building was phenomenal, from the sprites to Butler and Artemis.
The relationships between characters was really unique and intriguing. He had a very good idea for a book and molded the idea into a wonderful novel. This book would be perfect for kids between 8-14, although I enjoyed it lol! Very good book <3

MY OVERALL RATING: 11.5/15
a four star book
