2026 Anticipated Releases

2026 looks like a fantastic year for book releases. Many of my favourite authors are releasing new titles, there are interesting debut novels being released and some (hopefully) scandalous memoirs too!

Check out my list below to see what books I am going to be anticipating the release of this year.

THE TRUTH ABOUT RUBY COOPER BY LIZ NUGENT (Goodreads) 12 March 2026

One of my all-time favourite authors - I can't wait!

Blurb:
If my sister hadn’t been beautiful, none of it would have happened.
Ruby Cooper and her sister, Erin, live an idyllic life in their close-knit church community in Boston. But when Ruby is sixteen, she is involved in an incident that causes her family’s world to implode.
Across decades, the fallout leaves a wake of destruction behind Ruby in Dublin and Erin in Boston.

Not that Ruby wants to think about the past.

But it can’t stay a secret forever.

Review: Internment by Samira Ahmed

Publication Date: 07 March 2019
Publisher: Atom Books
Source: Review Copy (#Gifted)

[ Goodreads ]           [ Book Depository ]

Blurb:

Rebellions are built on hope.
Set in a horrifying near-future United States, seventeen-year-old Layla Amin and her parents are forced into an internment camp for Muslim American citizens.

With the help of newly made friends also trapped within the internment camp, her boyfriend on the outside, and an unexpected alliance, Layla begins a journey to fight for freedom, leading a revolution against the internment camp's Director and his guards.

Heart-racing and emotional, Internment challenges readers to fight complicit silence that exists in our society today.

A big thank you to Atom Books for sending me this book in exchange for my full and honest review.

This is probably one of the most scary and hard hitting books I will read. I found the novel so terrifying as the events unfolding in it could easily begin to happen tomorrow. The novel centers around Layla, a seventeen year old American Muslim whose life is turned upside down when her and her family are shipped off to an internment camp against their will. It is the life inside these internment "anti- Muslim" camps that really make for harrowing reading.

Review: Dry by Neal Shusterman & Jarrod Shusterman

Publication Date: October 2nd 2018
Publisher: Walker Books
Source: Review copy from publisher

[ Goodreads ]         [ Book Depository ]

Blurb:

The drought—or the Tap-Out, as everyone calls it—has been going on for a while now. Everyone’s lives have become an endless list of don’ts: don’t water the lawn, don’t fill up your pool, don’t take long showers.

Until the taps run dry.

Suddenly, Alyssa’s quiet suburban street spirals into a warzone of desperation; neighbours and families turned against each other on the hunt for water. And when her parents don’t return and her life—and the life of her brother—is threatened, Alyssa has to make impossible choices if she’s going to survive.

Big thank you to Walker Books for sending me a copy of this novel in exchange for my full review.

This is my first Neal Shusterman novel, and after reading Dry, I think I will definitely have to pick up more of his novels! I went into the book with average expectations, and wow this book blew me away. The novel was so engaging, gripping and will leave you thinking about it long after you've turned the last page.

The novel centers around the "Tap-Out" where the water has stopped flowing for this town as the resources have run out. The novel shows us the affects of this water crisis through the eyes of Alyssa, her younger brother Garrett, neighbour Kelton, runaway Jacqui and Henry.

Blurb:

Lily wakes up one crisp Sunday morning on the side of the road. She has no idea how she got there. It is all very peaceful. and very beautiful. It is only when the police car, and then the ambulance arrive, and she sees her own body, that she realises that she is in fact... dead. But what is she supposed do now? Lily has no option but to follow her body and see her family – her parents and her twin brother start falling apart. And then her twin brother Ben gives her a once in a deathtime opportunity - to use his own body for a while. But will Lily give Ben his body back? She is beginning to have a rather good time...

Thank you to Hot Key Books for sending me an advanced copy of this novel in exchange for my full and honest review. This book was featured on my Most Anticipated 2018 Releases post which I posted back in January. I was extremely excited for this book and was so happy to be approved to receive and advanced copy of it.

The premise of this novel centers around our main character Lily, waking up on the side of the road looking down at her own body and realizing she is dead. Lily is then able to see the affect her death has had on the others in her life including her family, boyfriend, friends and her killer. Although this plot premise has been done before in many cliche ways, Phyllida Shrimpton brings the story line to life with her own wonderfully entertaining fresh spin on it.

Review: Monster by C.J Skuse

 Publication Date: September 24th 2015
Publisher: Mira Ink
Source: Review copy

[ Goodreads ]              [ Book Depository ]

Blurb:

At sixteen Nash thought that the fight to become Head Girl of prestigious boarding school Bathory would be the biggest battle she’d face. Until her brother’s disappearance leads to Nash being trapped at the school over Christmas with Bathory’s assorted misfits. As a blizzard rages outside, strange things are afoot in the school’s hallways, and legends of the mysterious Beast of Bathory – a big cat rumoured to room the moors outside the school – run wild. Yet when the girls’ Matron goes missing it’s clear that something altogether darker is to blame – and that they’ll have to stick together if they hope to survive.
A huge thank you to Mira Ink for providing me with a copy of this novel in exchange for a full and honest review.

Monster is an intriguing novel which takes place in an all girls boarding school called Bathory . Bathory is a very typical idea of a boarding school, strict rules and uniform, but what I enjoyed most about the school setting was seeing how the girls in the story either accepted or rejected the idea of the strict school.

New Releases: August 2015

Hello readers! I can not believe it is already August, where has the summer gone? In Ireland we have had a very wet summer, I don't think we have had a week of sun yet.....but hopefully that will change just in time for me to relax in the sun with some of these exciting new releases~

 Publication Date: 4th August
Publisher: Hot Key Books

Blurb: Preparing to survive a typical day of being Digbys friend wasn't that different from preparing to survive the apocalypse.

Her first day not in school (because she cut) in her new hometown that will soon be her old hometown (because she's getting out of Dodge as fast as she can) Zoe meets Digby. Or rather, Digby decides he's going to meet Zoe and get her to help him find missing teenager. Zoe isn't sure how, but Digby—the odd and brilliant and somehow…attractive?—Digby always gets what he wants, including her help on several illegal ventures. Before she knows it, Zoe has vandalized an office complex with fake snow, pretended to buy drugs alongside a handsome football player dressed like the Hulk, had a throw-down with a possible cult, and, oh yeah, saved her new hometown (which might be worth making her permanent hometown after all.)

A mystery where catching the crook isn't the only hook, a romance where the leading man is decidedly unromantic, a story about friendship where they aren't even sure they like each other—Trouble is a Friend of Mine is a YA debut you won’t soon forget.

Blurb: What if you aren’t the Chosen One?

The one who’s supposed to fight the zombies, or the soul-eating ghosts, or whatever the heck this new thing is, with the blue lights and the death?

Because sometimes there are problems bigger than this week’s end of the world, and sometimes you just have to find the extraordinary in your ordinary life.

Even if your best friend is worshiped by mountain lions.

Award-winning writer Patrick Ness’s bold and irreverent novel powerfully reminds us that there are many different types of remarkable.

Review:

Thanks again to Hot Key Books for sending me this review copy in exchange for an honest review.

This book was an action packed, page turner that kept me gripped during action scenes. Although I have to say, there is some graphic and unpleasant content not suitable for younger readers. This novel packs a punch and I am eagerly awaiting the sequel.

The characters in the novel are very well written. Our protagonist, Rylee, comes from a mysterious family that has moved around from place to place numerous times and had many names. They are the type of family that must be ready at all times to up sticks and leave their home in the face of danger. I have to say, I was so intrigued by this family that I made up so many possible theories as to why they're mysterious in my head while reading. Rylee is one of those characters you read in a book and instantly connect with. She is under so much pressure and stress in the novel that you really feel for her. She definitely induced some feels when she thought about what her life would be like if she was a normal teenage girl.
