HOW TO START A FEMINIST REVOLUTION:
1. Call out anything that is unfair on one gender
2. Don't call out the same thing twice (so you can sleep and breathe)
3. Always try to keep it funny
4. Don't let anything slide. Even when you start to break...
Lottie's determined to change the world with her #Vagilante vlog. Shame the trolls have other ideas...
This is the 3rd book in the Spinster Club series. If you know me, you will know this series is one of my favourite series of all times! Check out my reviews of the other books, Am I Normal Yet? and How Hard Can Love Be.
This book centres on Lottie, who is one of my most outspoken and bubbly of the trio. Lottie's book is one I was so looking forward to reading, but for some reason I let myself get busy and didn't have time to read it. So it sat on my shelf for years but due to ~quarantine~ I now have ALL THE READING TIME!!!
Lottie's book was just as funny, feminism filled as I was expecting. The novel centers on Lotties activist campaign #Vagilante where she is going to call out every piece of sexism she sees for an entire month while creating an online video series documenting the campaign. She recruits budding videographer Will, who is handsome but "definitely not a feminist".

5 Reasons To Read How Hard Can Love Be? by Holly Bourne
Publication Date: February 1st 2016
Publisher: Usbourne Publishing

Blurb:
Amber, Evie and Lottie: three girls facing down tough issues with the combined powers of friendship, feminism and cheesy snacks. Both hilarious and heart-rending, this is Amber’s story of how painful – and exhilarating – love can be, following on from Evie’s story in Am I Normal Yet?
All Amber wants is a little bit of love. Her mum has never been the caring type, even before she moved to California, got remarried and had a personality transplant. But Amber's hoping that spending the summer with her can change all that.
And then there's prom king Kyle, the guy all the girls want. Can he really be interested in anti-cheerleader Amber? Even with best friends Evie and Lottie's advice, there's no escaping the fact: love is hard.
1) Perfectly Swoon-worthy Romance
One thing I adore to read about is a slow building romance. I find it so much more satisfying to see two characters grow closer slowly than to read a book with "love at first sight".
Holly Bourne perfectly executes the slow burning, butterfly inducing romance in this novel.
The relationship between Amber and Kyle was so very friendly, caring and cute! I loved how well they complimented each other. If you want to read a realistic and well written romance, pick up this book!
2) ALL THE FEMINISM !
One of my favourite things about this series is the feminism and the way the girls are portrayed. Evie, Lottie, Amber are such great friends to each other and also have their own feminist club. They support and encourage each other while also having open discussions about feminist themes and topics. I love how empowered I feel after finishing a Holly Bourne novel and want nothing more than to join my own feminism club!

Review: Am I Normal Yet? by Holly Bourne
Publication Date: August 1st 2015

All Evie wants is to be normal. She’s almost off her meds and at a new college where no one knows her as the girl-who-went-crazy. She’s even going to parties and making friends. There’s only one thing left to tick off her list…
But relationships are messy – especially relationships with teenage guys. They can make any girl feel like they’re going mad. And if Evie can’t even tell her new friends Amber and Lottie the truth about herself, how will she cope when she falls in love?
As you may know if you have read my favourite books of 2015 blog post, Am I Normal Yet? was one of my absolute favourite novels of last year. You may also be wondering, Shannon if you read that book back in October of last year, why on earth are you only writing a review now?! Well blog reader, the answer to that is that I kept putting off this review to formulate my thoughts in a comprehensible manner as I did not want to be a mess of emotions just yelling at you to buy this book!
I picked up this novel before attending Dept Con 1, a book convention where Holly Bourne was speaking and signing her novels. I did not know much about this novel before reading it apart from the fact that lots of people on twitter, including my wonderful friend Cooleen, had read and adored it. I went into this novel expecting it to be good, but I was utterly blown away by how incomprehensibly fantastic it was!
Am I Normal Yet? tells the story of Evie, a sixteen year old girl with mental health problems that wishes to just be a "normal" teenager. The novel goes through so many themes from family life to school to fitting in. Some of the most prominent themes in the novel is friendship, mental health and the concept of what "normal" is.
