Fahrenheit 451 by Ray Bradbury.

PAGES:   190 Pages
TIME TO READ:   3 Days
FIRST PUBLISHED IN: 1950

SYNOPSIS:
The system was simple. Everyone understood it. Books were for burning, along with the houses in which they were hidden.

Guy Montag was a fireman whose job it was to start fires. And he enjoyed his job. He had been a fireman for ten years, and he had never questioned the pleasure of the midnight runs or the joy of watching pages consumed by flames, never questioned anything until he met a seventeen-year-old girl who told him of a past when people were not afraid. Then Guy met a professor who told him of a future in which people could think. And Guy Montag suddenly realized what he had to do...

REVIEW:
CHARACTERS: 4/5
I enjoyed the characters in this book, but i felt that, at times, some of them felt a little flat and two- demesional.
The protagonist of this story was a character that i loved. Guy Montag was the hero of the story. He was a brilliant vibrant character who really came to life for me. Faber <3 I loved Faber, He was really funny and lively, although a little cowardly. I enjoyed his character and his bond with Montag. Clarisse <3 Gosh i loved clarisse! I wish there was more of her in the book. She was a spontaneous and realistic character. She loved to ask questions and i loved seeing her grow closer to Montag as she questioned him about his work.
Captain Beatty....ugh, i hated him. He was so condescending towards Montag :L Hehe..Flame-thrower! Montag's wife Mildred was also another character i didn't like. She was just obsessed with Things, possesions and hardly showed any affection towards her husband. She was just a selfish person all round.

PLOT:    4/5
I liked the idea behind the plot. The concept of books being evil objects that are banned from society. Firefighter's who started fires and burned books! Wow, this was an awesome plot . I found the plot a little slow in the beginning but it picked up around the 50 page mark ^^.
This book's plot would have gotten five stars but it left me with alot of questions about the plot. For Example; What ever REALLY  happened to Clarisse? Or how did Faber know the book people?

WRITING STYLE: 3/5
I liked Bradbury's writing style and i admired his imense level of creativity for imagining this new world where books were evil and firefighter's burned books and people! I liked his vivid Characters and his imaginitive writing style. But i found the book a little slow and bland at times . It could go from fast paced to slow-ish in the space of a few pages. Yet, overall i thouroughly enjoyed this book <3
OVERALL RATING:   11 / 15
