Review: The Day of The Doctor, Doctor Who 50th Anniversary Special

This is a review of the Doctor Who 50th special entitled The Day of The Doctor . If you have not seen the anniversary special, I advise you not to continue reading until you have watched it.

See the trailer below:

Review:

Before going to the cinema to see the 50th anniversary, yes I was so lucky to have it shown in my local cinema, I watched all the mini clips and scenes released by the BBC Youtube to get me in the 50th mood. One of the best and most brilliant of the promotional videos was definitely "The Night Of The Doctor" featuring eighth doctor Paul Mc Gann.

[Watch it above.] This 6 minute mini episode answered so many of my burning questions, the biggest of which: Where did John Hurt come from and Who is he?  The episode revealed that the 8th Doctor was involved in a fatal accident while trying to save a woman during the time war. He was about to die when he was saved and forced to regenerate into whatever he chose. Because of the Time War he decided to regenerate into a warrior and abandon his Doctor title. He became a warrior and this is John Hurt.

TV Review: Wolfblood Season 2 Ep. 12 "Going Underground"

The episode began with everyone at school wondering where Maddy and Rhydian were. Then we see them being chased by Alraic through the woods. I was really worried that Rhydian was so hurt by using eolas and then Maddys phone rang.

Alraic was so scary in this episode. The eolas doesn't work with electricity and it was clever they tricked him into using it under the power lines.

TV Review: Wolfblood Season 2 Ep. 11 "Best Of Both Worlds"

I loved the way the episode began with Tom, Shannon, Maddy , Jana and Rhydian messing about and having a laugh while tidying Jana's caravan.

Them  things took a serious turn as Ceri turned up with the news that Jana must become the new pack leader as Alraic has been exiled.

Ceri in this episode was odd at first. I was shocked to see her return at first. The way she treated Rhydian with such love. I thought it wa skind of funny that she wanted Rhydian to get together with Jana so he could be "her alpha male to her alpha female" . She's a Jydian shipper! I thought it was a bit sneaky that Ceri wanted Rhydian to help Jana be pack leader so that she could be with him again, rather than that she thought she was going to be a good leader. I liked that Ceri became slowly more and more impressed with Jana as the episode went on. She was impressed when Jana displayed her leadership in the toilets by giving the three Kays advice. Then she was really impressed when Mr Jeffries praised her.

TV Review: Wolfblood Season 2 Ep. 10 "Fall of The Wild" (2.10)

Catch Wolfblood Mondays and Tuesdays only on CBBC at 5pm.

I really enjoyed this episode. I think the writers have really listened to what the fans want and have included a lot more "mundane" episodes this season.

This episode features the wolfblood gang- Maddy, Rhydian Jana- and Shannon ,Tom and the rest of their class going on a school camping trip.

I liked the way they were free in the wild, but also constantly on the cautious side because of their wolfblood secret.

I also liked this episode because we got to see more of Tom's new friendship with Jimi and the other boys. I felt that this relationship had come out of nowhere but I kind of see where it is now.

Jimi has really shown some character development as he doesn't seem to care about Liam's theory about werewolves and would rather do what everyone else is doing. He was also a really good friend to Tom, asking him about his dyslexia and taking over the map for him and not making a big deal over it.

Review: Wolfblood Season 2 Episode 9 (2. 09) "Dances With Wolfbloods"

Catch brand new Wolfblood episodes every Monday and Tuesday at 5pm on CBBC

I think that I can honestly say that this episode was my favourite of the season so far.

1st reason I loved it : The mundane setting. I really loved how everything was normal and the episode didn't focus on the supernatural aspects of the show as much.

They spent a lot of time focusing more on Shannons character and the school setting rather than the Wolfbloods powers. I really enjoyed the way the episode was because I sometimes feel that it is good when a series breaks up its heavy action episodes with one a little more light hearted.

Louisa Burnham ( Twitter ) is just an amazing actress who really has captured Shannon is such a way that she makes Shannon feel so real. In this episode, I really liked that the show focused on her . After the events of the previous episode, Shannon is depressed and feels that without her research on the beast, her life has lost its previous meaning.

Then the boy, Adam, from the episode of the concert, returns. He finds Shannon on her own and asks her to sing with him and to go tot the dance with her. I really liked the Shannon we got to see here. She was instantly happy and she was able to sing and let some of herself shine through around him. I was also really happy that he treats her so nice and they are an adorable couple.

Wolfblood Season 2 Episode 8 "Desperate Measures"

Catch Wolfblood every Monday & Tuesday at 5pm on CBBC

The episode started off with a bang. The conflict is evident between Jana , Maddy and Shannon....could Jana be right about Shannon's evidence being dangerous.

Jimi's character was developed a bit, we got to see more of his devious and cunning side with the football tickets.

Wolfblood Season 2 Ep 7 "Top Dog" (2. 07)

Catch Wolfblood every Monday & Tuesday at 5pm on Cbbc

I really liked the way this episode was a little more mundane than we are used to. The episode took place entirely at school which was really interesting as it is not something we've seen before. The episode also didn't feature any outside paranormal activity.

I thought it was sad to see the rifts Maddy was forming with her friends, especially Shannon. Shannon and Maddy have always been the best for friends and while I do see why Shannon thinks the videos can be useful, I side with Maddy and think she should just delete them.

Also why was Shannon keeping the Owl from Maddys House in her locker? That was a little weird. I liked the relationship developed between Shannon and Jana- although it sometimes felt a bit like they were in a "lets hate on Maddy" club. Jana can be vulnerable but she can also be extremely violent and threatening. I think we seen both sides to her character in this episode. Hopefully Shannon will learn that Wolfbloods are dangerous creatures, even if Maddy is not, and that keeping the videos will only put her in more danger.

Tom in this episode was really confusing for me. He knew Shannon & Maddy were arguing and wanted to keep out of it because they're his friends...so instead he sides with Jimi ? If one of my friends were running for school representative, I would support them- NOT the school bully... anyways, since when is he such friends with Jimi ? He was really confusing in this episode.

The three Kay's were funny in this episode. I liked Kara's character in this episode and the way she ran for school representative ahead of her friends...I've never thought of her to be the leader of the Kays, I always thought Katrina would be, but maybe she is. I also thought it was so funny that she got the giant book to read at the end. Also  next episode sees a rift between the Kays so it looks very good.

Also people have been saying on the Internet that Mr Jeffries may have / gain some insight into the world of the Wolfbloods. Many are saying that he in fact is a wolfblood himself, while others say he may discover the secret. I'm curious to see if these rumours are in fact true!

Wolfblood Season 2 Episode 6 "The Mottled Pappy"

This episode was so good.

It was revealed Social Services had called Rhydian back to live with his foster parents, so not entirely Maddys parents fault.

Aw the little kiss Maddy texted Rhydian was cute. I loved the way he kept the photos Maddys parents gave him. Cute the way Jana threw stones at Rhydians window to call him out. The way they were playing at the stream like cubs! Poor Rhydians mobile.

Wolfblood Season 2 Ep 5 "Ancient Grudge"

I was so sad to miss the episode on Monday, so I had to watch the catch up on Saturday.

Awh it was cute to see how much Jana missed her dad, Alraic. I got a fright when he jumped down. It made me a little suspicious of Jana. She had been given a job to bring Rhydian back- Shocker! I knew there was something off about her.

So cute when Maddy was jealous that Jana called Rhydian over to the changing room. Her reaction when Tom suggested Rhydian and Jana fancied each other.

American Horror Story (2.09) "The Coat Hanger"

Dylan Mc Dermott, from season 1 who played Ben, was in this episode. I loved his cameo infinitely. I think his part in the episode, although small, really added to the dramatic effect for the viewer. We had seen "Bloody Face"'s child before Lana even knew she was pregnant. We got to see how unstable and evil he is in the future. Also, a little ironic that he played a crap psychiatrist in season 1 and in season 2 has to be a patient to a psychiatrist.

Wolfblood Season 2 Episode 4 "Total Eclipse Of The Moon".

Woah Shannon can really sing. At first I thought it was going to be revealed that it was Jana singing, but I like this new dynamic of Shannons character. Poor Shannon, when she was singing and everyone was laughing at her. I really liked that Shannon was the main focus of the episode. I was so proud she could get back up on the stage.

Wolfblood : Season 2 Episode 1 "Leader Of The Pack".

Hello guys! Wow, I have not done a Tv Talk post in a very long time. I've been a little too busy in the past month or so to watch any of my TV shows, let alone write a Tv Talk post about them.

Monday saw the return of one of my favourite shows ever. Wolfblood. I know not a lot of you have probably heard of it but trust me, it is amazing. The show follows Maddy, a teenage Wolfblood (person who can transform into a wolf ) and her friends as they go through many of the regular teenage problems and also some supernatural ones.

The show is on Mondays on CBBC at 5pm.

TV Talk: Teen Wolf: Frayed (03.05)

Today on TV Talk I will be re-capping / discussing the fifth episode in the third season of Teen Wolf.

The episode starts out with Stiles, Scott, Boyd, Isaac and the rest of the Lacrosse team- which I had no idea "one of the twins"* was on.  (*yes, I will keep referring to them in this way as I have not remembered their names!)

Tv Talk [3] Merlin Season 1

So I just finished watching the first series of Merlin and guys, why have I never watched this Tv show before? Seriously, It is awesome. The cast are brillant and I can't believe this is a kids show ! So many Feels!
Lets talk about Merlin. He is an average peasant boy who learns of his magic abilities and his new warlock status. He moves in with Gauis, a relative in Camelot a city that has outlawed the use of magic, who knows of magic. The series revolves around Merlin developing his skills and using them secretly to help Arthur and Camelot.

Merlin and Gauis have such a beautiful relationship. Gauis once described Merlin as the son he never had. They get along really well as he tries to teach Merlin to control his magic and to mold him into a fine warlock.
Arthur Pendragon- future king of Camelot. He and Merlin have gone through so much together. I remember he once travelled to save Merlins life and in the final episodes when Merlin had to do the same, I felt like their friendship became stronger because of that. I know that Athur likes to sometimes keep the social divisions and think he is a cut above Gwen and Merlin but at other times you see that he really would like for them to be his friends.
Morgana was a character I felt conflicted about. When she decided to arrange the assasination of Uther I was not that angry at her. I knew where she was coming from and could see her anger. But when she talked with him at the graveside and saved him, I could see that although he is very tough on her, he does think of her as his daughter. I've heard rumours that she goes a little evil, so that could be interesting. I can't wait to see her develop her powers....will she tell merlin?
Gwen is a lovely character. Pure of heart, honest and kind. At first I totally shipped her with Merlin, from the first episode, but since watching the finale I now feel she would be a better match for Arthur (I mean look how she cares for him in the picture!). She is a wonerful character and I also like her close relationship with Gaius.
This dragon, I'm sorry I don't know his name, is a character I'm frightened of. In the beginning he seemed nice and helpful toward Merlin. But then towards the end of the series, he began to become demanding of Merlin, angry and vicious. After the finale I cannot wait to see how Merlin will treat him now and what will happen with him...
The last two episodes....I was crying. How is this a kids show? So much emotions :')

Guys, I cannot wait for season 2 ! I will start watching it as soon as I have time because I'm in the middle of exams right now. If you like merlin, let me know! If you have a Merlin Tumblr, link it in the comments.

The family moved there as a way to leave their problems behind. They do not know the house is haunted upon arrival..
